Actress Shraddha Kapoor, known for her versatile roles, has unveiled an intriguing new poster for the much-anticipated horror-comedy ‘Stree 2’ on Tuesday, sparking excitement among fans eagerly awaiting the film’s release.
The poster features a hand tightly gripping a braid, a symbolic element deeply intertwined with the narrative of the film. In the first installment of the series, released in 2018, Shraddha Kapoor’s character alluded to her identity using the Stree’s braid, leaving audiences captivated and speculating about her true nature, IANS reported.
Announcing the imminent arrival of the film’s trailer, Shraddha Kapoor took to social media with a caption that read, “Ek badi suchna – O Stree aa rahi hai in just 2 din. #Stree2 Trailer in 2 days! The legend returns this Independence Day, August 15, 2024.”
The caption further echoed the eerie charm of the film, stating, “Aatank jab Chanderi par chhaya, tab sabko ek hi nara yaad aaya, O Stree Raksha Karna!”
Directed by debutant filmmaker Amar Kaushik, the original ‘Stree’ also starred Rajkummar Rao, Flora Saini, Pankaj Tripathi, Aparshakti Khurana, and Abhishek Banerjee. Rooted in the urban legend of Nale Ba (“Come Tomorrow”) from Karnataka, the film garnered acclaim for seamlessly blending horror and comedy, establishing a supernatural universe that has since expanded with films like ‘Roohi’, ‘Bhediya’, and ‘Munjya’.
‘Stree 2’ promises to delve deeper into this mysterious world, continuing to intrigue audiences with its unique blend of scares and laughter. The film’s release date was rescheduled to August 15, 2024, following adjustments in the release calendar prompted by other major films in Bollywood.
