Production has officially kicked off for the highly anticipated second season of HBO Max’s ‘Peacemaker,’ featuring wrestling star turned actor John Cena.
The news was confirmed by DC Studios co-head James Gunn, who shared updates on his Instagram over the weekend, PTI reported.
With a snapshot of Peacemaker’s iconic helmet, Gunn marked the beginning of Season 2, expressing his excitement to helm some of the episodes himself.
Additionally, he revealed that three other talented directors would be joining him for the season.
‘Peacemaker’ S2 comes hot on the heels of its predecessor’s success, with HBO Max renewing the series in 2022.
The show serves as a spin-off from Gunn’s 2021 blockbuster ‘The Suicide Squad,’ where Cena portrayed the role of Christopher ‘Peacemaker’ Marks.
The ensemble cast includes Danielle Brooks, Jennifer Holland, Freddie Stroma, Chukwudi Iwuji, Steve Agee, and Robert Patrick, promising another action-packed and thrilling installment for fans of the superhero genre.
