Sony Entertainment Television introduces its latest family drama, ‘Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai,’ aiming to tackle the prevalent issue of dowry in Indian society.
The show revolves around Nandini, portrayed by Meera Deosthale, a strong-willed woman challenging the age-old tradition of dowry.
Nandini, raised by her uncle and aunt in the traditional setting of Gujarat, becomes a beacon of strength as she boldly demands the return of her dowry, challenging societal norms that diminish women’s self-respect. Zaan Khan plays the role of Nandini’s husband, Naren Ratanshi, while Dharmesh Vyas and Khushi Rajpoot portray her in-laws.
The narrative unfolds against the backdrop of seemingly content married life, shedding light on Nandini’s courageous journey as she stands against her in-laws and the dowry system. The show promises to deliver an empowering storyline with the intention of not only entertaining but also educating the masses about pertinent societal issues.
Neeraj Vyas, Business Head of Sony Entertainment Television, expresses the channel’s commitment to presenting narratives that inspire change. He believes that by featuring a powerful character like Nandini, the show will initiate meaningful conversations and catalyze social impact.
JD Majethia, from Hats Off Productions, highlights the show’s relevance, stating that the dowry system persists not only in rural areas but also in metropolitan cities. The series aims to shed light on such practices disguised as tradition and raises questions that need continuous attention.
With a strong ensemble cast and impactful performances, ‘Kuch Reet Jagat Ki Aisi Hai’ is set to strike a chord with viewers across the country. The show airs every Monday to Friday at 8:30 PM on Sony Entertainment Television.
