The channel is all set to mark the significant occasion of Mahalaya with a day-long programming lineup, aptly named ‘Mahalayar Mahautsab.’ This special event is scheduled to air on Sony AATH on October 14, 2023.
Mahalaya, a pivotal day in the Bengali calendar, signifies the commencement of Devi Paksha and is celebrated with great enthusiasm. Acknowledging the cultural and religious significance of this day, Sony AATH has meticulously curated a day-long special segment, ‘Mahalayar Mahautsab,’ which will run from 05:00 AM to 05:00 PM.
The festivities begin at 05:00 AM with ‘Debir Dashrup,’ offering insights into Adishakiti’s ten forms and the stories associated with each form. The episode portrays how, when malevolent forces threaten the righteous, the Goddess appears in various forms to vanquish them.
Following this, at 09:00 AM, ‘Atho Sati Parbati Katha’ narrates the story of Sati’s marriage with Lord Shiva and her reincarnation as Goddess Parvati. Viewers will witness how Goddess Parvati, like Sati, wins over Lord Shiva through her penance and becomes his consort. At 10:00 AM, ‘Gopaler Mahalaya’ will present a special episode focusing on the Durga Puja festival and Mahalaya.
‘Shaktirupini Durga’ at 01:00 PM will take viewers through the legend of Goddess Durga, who combats demonic forces that threaten peace, prosperity, and dharma, ultimately restoring the triumph of good over evil.
The day’s lineup concludes with ‘Asurnashini Maa’ at 02:00 PM, recounting the tale of Goddess Parvati’s transformation into Goddess Katyayani and her battle against the demon Mahishasura, ultimately becoming Mahishasuramardini, the destroyer of demons.
