Tivù Srl, the provider of Tivùsat, the popular Italian free-to-air satellite platform, has expanded its service offerings in partnership with NAGRA, a Kudelski Group company known for its expertise in content protection and multiscreen television solutions. This collaboration aims to enhance the viewing experience for customers and broaden the reach of DAZN sports content.
As of August 2, 2023, NAGRA has implemented its advanced cardless security solutions to safeguard the newly launched DAZN Live Sport channel, known as ‘Zona DAZN,’ hosted by Tivù Srl. This strategic move allows Tivù to offer a premium sports lineup to its end-users while enabling DAZN to extend its service to a larger audience through the Tivùsat satellite platform.
For Tivù Srl users equipped with a set-top box or conditional access module (CAM), accessing DAZN sports content is now made simple. Subscribers can activate the service and enjoy a diverse selection of premium sports programming with an emphasis on delivering high-quality content.
According to a press release, Alberto Sigismondi, President of Tivù Srl, expressed excitement about the extended partnership with NAGRA, emphasizing that the NAGRA cardless technology ensures the secure delivery of DAZN content to their users.
NAGRA’s new cardless security solution complements the existing smartcard solutions already deployed at Tivùsat. This addition enhances content protection, safeguarding the valuable investments in premium programming.
Nancy Goldberg, Executive Vice President and Chief Marketing and Sales Officer at NAGRA, highlighted the company’s dedication to assisting customers in providing a wide array of content options to their viewers. The expansion of NAGRA’s security solution to cover DAZN premium sports content on the Tivùsat platform demonstrates the versatility of their offerings in today’s evolving media and entertainment market.
NAGRA’s cardless technology plays a crucial role in the company’s broadcast security portfolio, employed by media and entertainment operators globally to protect premium content delivered via proprietary and Android set-top boxes.
The technology adheres to rigorous MovieLabs requirements, ensuring enhanced protection for 4K/HDR content. NAGRA’s extensive certified SOC and set-top box partner network allows them to provide secure and commercially viable solutions for operators of all sizes.
