Pathan and Tiger, two of Hindi cinema’s most famous characters, are set to face off in the upcoming spy-action film ‘Tiger vs Pathaan,’ which will begin filming in January 2024.
While the audience liked watching the two characters’ friendship in Shah Rukh Khan’s ‘Pathaan’, the invincibles will be taking each other on in the new addition to the spy universe.
According to IANS, the production company behind the Indian spy universe — YRF — isn’t talking about this project just yet because they have big plans to reveal it in a big manner, but work on ‘Tiger vs Pathaan’ has already begun.
“We expect the film to begin production in January 2024,” a source said. But Aditya Chopra is keeping all details under wraps because this is the most ambitious Bollywood film that the industry has tried in a long, long time.
“It’s not every day that you get two of India’s biggest stars, SRK and Salman, in the same film,” the source added.
All projects from the mighty franchises ‘Ek Tha Tiger,’ ‘Tiger Zinda Hai,’ ‘War,’ and now ‘Pathaan’ have been blockbusters, making YRF Spy Universe one of the biggest IP’s in Indian films. With ‘Pathaan’, the YRF now has the country’s top-grossing Hindi film as a badge of honour.
From a chronological standpoint, it all began in 2012, when Salman Khan took over as ‘Tiger’ in ‘Ek Tha Tiger,’ and continued in 2017 with ‘Tiger Zinda Hai,’ in which he reprised his character as a super-spy.
Then, in 2019, Hrithik Roshan swept the audience off their feet with ‘War,’ one of Hindi cinema’s most stylish features. With two agents in place, the concept for the spy universe was born, and ‘Pathaan,’ with its massive collections, provided the ideal setting for the universe.
