Jio, India’s most powerful brand, and the fastest expanding digital services provider have hired Wieden and Kennedy India as its creative agency for its 5G business.
As Jio True 5G ushers in a new era of technology, the agency will play a critical role in delivering transformational experiences for individuals, families, and enterprises.
In October of last year, Akash M Ambani, Chairman of Reliance Jio Infocomm Limited, announced the debut of Jio True 5G services, kicking off what will be one of the world’s largest 5G rollouts.
Jio True 5G has already touched 304 cities in the last four months and is rapidly expanding 5G coverage across India, with pan-India 5G coverage projected to be finished by December 2023.
W+K was created in 2007 in Delhi, to generate authentic work for businesses that connect with people, become part of popular culture, and eventually effects the bottom line.
The Mumbai office was established in mid-2022, under the leadership of Santosh Padhi and Ayesha Ghosh, who took over as CCO and President, respectively.
Ayesha Ghosh, President, of W+K India, had this to say about the win: “Jio True 5G is going to be a game-changer and W+K India couldn’t have asked for a more influential brand to begin our Mumbai chapter with. We are blown away by all that we’ve heard and experienced True 5G and now it’s up to us to communicate the enormity of what it means to the country; its people and its economy.”
Santosh Paddy, CCO, W+K India said, “Jio True 5G has a massive vision to digitally transform India. W+K is the chosen one to take this exciting narrative to 1.4 billion Indians and we are so looking forward to giving it our best and partake in the transformation journey for our country”.
