Superstar Rajinikanth’s blockbuster action crime drama ‘Jailer 2’ is set for its global streaming premiere on Prime Video on November 12. The much-anticipated sequel sees Rajinikanth reprise his iconic role as retired jailer Tiger Muthuvel Pandian, following the film’s record-breaking run at the Indian and global box offices.
Prime Video announced the exclusive streaming premiere in a press release dated November 5, 2026. Directed by Nelson Dilipkumar and produced by Kalanithi Maran under the banner of Sun Pictures, the film promises a bigger spectacle with heightened action, scale and power-packed performances.
The film features special appearances by Mohanlal, Hrithik Roshan and Vijay Sethupathi, alongside an ensemble cast comprising SJ Suryah, Shivarajkumar, Suraj Venjaramoodu, Mithun Chakraborty, Vidya Balan, Ramya Krishnan, Namo Narayana and Yogi Babu. Anirudh Ravichander has composed the film’s energetic musical score.
Picking up from where the first instalment left off, ‘Jailer 2’ follows Muthuvel Pandian as he is pulled out of retirement when a powerful criminal syndicate with deep political and international connections threatens everything he holds dear. With old enemies returning for revenge and new alliances taking shape, Muthuvel must once again rely on his formidable instincts to protect his family and restore order.
Commenting on the film, director Nelson Dilipkumar said, “The response to Jailer was extraordinary, and the love audiences have shown for Muthuvel Pandian has been one of the most rewarding aspects of this journey. With Jailer 2, we wanted to build on that special connection while taking the story, action, scale, and emotional stakes to an entirely new level.”
He added that having Rajinikanth reprise his role alongside the ensemble cast, with Anirudh’s music adding its distinctive energy, made the sequel particularly exciting. Following the film’s theatrical response, Nelson said the team was delighted to bring Jailer 2 to Prime Video, where it will join the first film and take both chapters of Muthuvel Pandian’s story to audiences in India and around the world.
‘Jailer 2’ will stream exclusively on Prime Video from November 12 in India and across more than 240 countries and territories. The film will be available in Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam and Kannada.
