Sony Pictures Entertainment has appointed Fede Goldenberg as Executive Vice President and Head of Screen Gems, bringing a former YouTube content partnerships executive to lead the studio’s genre film label. The appointment marks a new chapter for Goldenberg, who will focus on expanding Screen Gems’ creative pipeline and strengthening its presence in theatrical filmmaking.
Goldenberg announced his appointment through a LinkedIn post, stating that he would build on Screen Gems’ legacy in genre films while developing a dedicated pipeline for creators and digital-native storytellers to bring their work to cinemas worldwide.
The move follows Goldenberg’s more than 15-year association with YouTube, where he most recently served as Head of TV and Film Content Partnerships from March 2017 to November 2026. During his tenure, he worked with major studios, including Disney, NBCUniversal, Paramount, Warner Bros. Discovery, Sony Pictures and Netflix, to expand their presence on the video platform.
His work also involved creator-led initiatives and partnerships aimed at connecting digital talent with the traditional film industry. Goldenberg said the opportunity to bring digital creators into the theatrical ecosystem of a major studio represented a significant development for the future of cinema.
He also expressed his enthusiasm for building a new creative pipeline alongside the Sony team and working closely with the creator community.
Before leading YouTube’s global TV and film partnerships, Goldenberg held several roles spanning film studio and multi-channel network partnerships, as well as content partnerships in Brazil. He began his career at Globosat, where he headed content distribution for a portfolio of more than 40 television channels.
Screen Gems has a long-standing presence in the genre film space. Goldenberg’s appointment signals Sony Pictures Entertainment’s focus on broadening the label’s creative pipeline by bringing digital-native storytellers into the theatrical ecosystem and exploring new opportunities for content development.
