Apple TV has unveiled the first look at its upcoming romantic comedy series ‘Prodigies’, starring Will Sharpe and Ayo Edebiri. The seven-episode series explores ambition, expectations and the challenges of long-term relationships.
According to an Apple TV press release yesterday,the series will premiere globally on February 10, 2027, on Apple TV, with its first two episodes. One new episode will be released every week after that, with the final episode arriving on March 17.
‘Prodigies’ follows Didi, played by Ayo Edebiri, and Ren, played by Will Sharpe. Both were child prodigies and have been in a relationship since they were nine years old. Now in their 30s, they begin to question whether their ordinary lives match the extraordinary expectations they had during childhood.
The story moves from London to Tokyo via Virginia. It explores how the couple deals with their ambitions, their expectations of life and the complexities of a relationship that has lasted for decades.
Will Sharpe, known for ‘The White Lotus’ and ‘A Real Pain’, created, wrote, directed and executive produced the series. Ayo Edebiri, known for ‘The Bear’ and ‘Bottoms’, also stars in the series and serves as an executive producer.
The supporting cast includes John Malkovich, Tobias Menzies, Yumi Asō, Maria Bakalova, Sophia Di Martino, Rina Sawayama, Reece Shearsmith, Dame Meera Syal and Andrene Ward-Hammond.
The series is produced by SISTER Pictures. Naomi De Pear, Katie Carpenter and Jane Featherstone serve as executive producers for the production company, alongside Will Sharpe for Fukuda Films and Ayo Edebiri.
