Prime Video has renewed ‘Neagley’ for a second season after the action series reached 40 million viewers globally in its first 13 days on the streaming service, Amazon said.
The first season ranks among the top 10 most-viewed seasons of any Prime Video original series and is the platform’s No. 4 most-viewed original-series debut in its history.
Starring Maria Sten as Frances Neagley, the series is set in the world of ‘Reacher’ and is based on the character from Lee Child’s bestselling novels.
All eight episodes of Season 1 are currently streaming exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
‘Neagley’ follows Frances Neagley, Jack Reacher’s former protégé, who is now a private investigator in Chicago. After learning that a beloved friend from her past has been killed in a suspicious accident, Neagley becomes determined to pursue justice.
Drawing on what she learned from Reacher and her experience as a member of the Army’s 110th Special Investigations Unit, she sets out on a dangerous path to uncover a menacing evil.
Sten leads the series as Neagley. The ensemble cast also includes Greyston Holt as Detective Hudson Riley, Adeline Rudolph as Renee Birdwhistle, Jasper Jones as Keno, Matthew Del Negro as Pierce Woodrow and Damon Herriman as Lawrence Cole. Alan Ritchson guest stars as Jack Reacher.
The Amazon statement identifies Holt through ‘The Night Agent’, Rudolph through ‘Mortal Kombat II’, Jones through ‘King Ivory’, Del Negro through ‘Mayor of Kingstown’ and Herriman through ‘Better Man’. Ritchson is also identified through ‘The Man with the Bag’.
‘Neagley’ was created by executive producers and co-showrunners Nick Santora and Nicholas Wootton. Santora’s credits cited by Amazon include ‘Reacher’, ‘Prison Break’ and ‘FUBAR’, while Wootton’s include ‘Scorpion’ and ‘The Endgame’.
The series is executive produced by Child, Don Granger, Sam Hill, Adam Higgs and Lisa Kussner. Paramount Television Studios and Amazon MGM Studios produce the series, with Carolyn Harris, Kenny Madrid and Niko Fernandez overseeing the project for Paramount Television Studios.
