Prime Video has unveiled the official trailer, poster and stills of its upcoming French-Italian Original film ‘Masterplan’, starring Academy Award-nominated actor Stanley Tucci alongside Italian actress Simona Tabasco and French actor Victor Belmondo. The English-language heist comedy-drama will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide from October 16.

According to a press release, ‘Masterplan’ follows a legendary thief who sets his sights on the Mona Lisa and recruits two young strangers to help him execute the ambitious heist. The two recruits are Chiara, a sharp Italian cybercrime expert, and Jay, a French explosives specialist. Their mission takes an unexpected turn when the thief reveals that the two are long-lost siblings — and that he is their father.

What follows is a chaotic family reunion as the three attempt to put their differences aside and work together on what could become the heist of the century. The film combines the world of high-stakes crime with family dynamics, as the newly reunited siblings must learn to cooperate while dealing with a relationship they never expected to have.

Tucci, known for films including ‘The Devil Wears Prada’, ‘The Lovely Bones’ and ‘The Hunger Games’, leads the cast alongside Tabasco, who rose to international prominence with The White Lotus Season 2, and Belmondo, known for ‘Bastion 36’. Their characters form the unlikely team at the centre of the film’s elaborate Mona Lisa heist.

‘Masterplan’ is directed by Thomas Vincent, whose credits include ‘Reacher’, ‘Bodyguard’ and ‘Versailles’. The screenplay has been co-written by Vincent and BAFTA-winning screenwriter David Wolstencroft, known for ‘Spooks’ and ‘The Escape Artist’. The story is credited to Giacomo Durzi, Alessandro Fabbri, Alberto Vignati, Wolstencroft and Vincent.

Co-produced by Gaumont and Amazon MGM Studios, the film was shot across multiple locations in France and Italy. With its mix of international stars, crime, comedy and an unconventional family story, ‘Masterplan’  is set to bring its high-stakes heist to audiences globally when it premieres on October 16.
