Amazon has unveiled the trailer for its upcoming post-apocalyptic sequel ‘Apocalypse Z: New World’, with the film set to premiere globally on Prime Video this Halloween (October end).

The second instalment in the ‘Apocalypse Z’ franchise, according to an Amazon statement, shifts the action to the Canary Islands, portrayed as Europe’s last refuge following the outbreak of the TSJ virus.

The film follows Roberto and a team sent from the Canary Islands to mainland Europe on a special mission to find vital supplies.

Roberto, however, joins the mission with questionable intentions, setting up a dangerous journey involving infected hordes, fractured loyalties and a fight for survival.

Based on author Manel Loureiro’s books, ‘Apocalypse Z: New World’ expands the universe established in 2024’s ‘Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End’.

Amazon said the original film became one of Prime Video’s most-watched titles internationally.

Berta Vázquez, returning as Lucía, and Jose María Yazpik, reprising Pritchenko, lead the returning cast. They are joined by Carlos Alcaide, Julia Martínez, MónicaLópez, Tamara Casellas and Santiago Vaca Narvaja. Carles Torrens, who directed the first film, returns behind the camera for the sequel.

The sequel will be available worldwide on Prime Video this Halloween in more than 240 countries and territories.

The first film, ‘Apocalypse Z: The Beginning of the End’, is currently streaming on the service, allowing viewers to revisit the story ahead of the sequel’s release.
