BGMI 4.6 update adds ‘Midnight Hunters’ mode, new Kiaraa character

KRAFTON India has launched the BGMI 4.6 update, delivering a massive overhaul headed by a supernatural theme mode, the debut of an original India-designed character (Kiaraa), key global crossovers and the return of a fan-favourite aquatic battlefield.

Live through November 16 on Erangel, the new ‘Midnight Hunters’ mode radically shifts traditional battle royale mechanics.

Key zones, including Rozhok, Mylta, and Quarry, have been transformed into Vampire Takeover points, while Stalber and Sosnovka Military Base host the Nightkeeper’s Hunter Guild.

The update’s standout feature, ‘Bloodline Awakening’, lets up to 20 eliminated players respawn as Vampires armed with tactical abilities like Claw Strike, Blood Sense, and Blood Amberfication, a KRAFTON India press release stated yesterday.

“‘Midnight Hunters’ is a genuine departure — we have changed what happens to you after you are eliminated,” said Srinjoy Das, Director of Marketing and Product Management at KRAFTON India.

Players can counter or navigate these threats using themed gear, including Silvermoon Chains, Twilight Bat Wings, and Scarlet Tonics.

On October 8, KRAFTON will introduce Kiaraa, the game’s first original character created entirely by its in-house Indian art team. Her arrival anchors an Indian Bazaar on Erangel, where players ignite four peacock lamps to trigger a Boss Battle.

The launch coincides with an India-exclusive Diwali Prize Path (October 22-November 15). The 20-level progression event offers localized cosmetics alongside virtual editions of the Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and Bullet 350.

Following intense player demand, the aquatic Ocean Odyssey mode returns on September 30, bringing back the Ocean Palace, Trident, and Kraken.
“Ocean Odyssey is back because our players never stopped asking for it,” Das noted.

The 4.6 update also packs major cross-industry partnerships.

Lincoln Motor Cruize (Sept 16-Nov 9): Brings the Model L and Navigator Black Label into the game.

One-Punch Man (Sept 21): Introduces Saitama via a dedicated spin and Mini Pass.

Techno Gamerz (Oct 20): Features a custom voice pack and Sunken Templar set.

Additionally, BGMI’s World of Wonder (WOW) sandbox gets expanded editing tools and higher limits, boosting an ecosystem that already counts over 50,000 custom maps and nearly 1 million daily active players.
