Netflix is using new technology to make the production of films and series easier and faster. At IBC 2026 in Amsterdam, Netflix Vice President of Production, EMEA, Anna Mallett spoke about how technology is helping production teams.

According to a Netflix press release yesterday, Netflix now produces content in more than 50 countries. Its teams work across production, editing, visual effects, music and other areas.

Mallett spoke about Netflix’s Media Production Suite (MPS), a cloud-based system that helps teams store, manage and share video files. The system was developed to make production work faster and easier.

MPS allows different teams to work on the same project at the same time. This means editing, visual effects and other teams can access the required footage without waiting for another team to finish their work.

Netflix is also using machine-learning tools to help teams find footage more quickly. These tools can create transcripts and help find specific scenes, characters or moments in large amounts of video.

Netflix is also developing a Tool Library with technology tools for production partners. The company said its aim is to reduce technical problems and delays, allowing creators to spend more time focusing on storytelling
