Prime Video has revealed the first official images from its upcoming series ‘Boys of Tommen’, based on the bestselling books by Irish author Chloe Walsh. The series is currently in production and will premiere exclusively on Prime Video in more than 240 countries and territories worldwide.
According to an Amazon official announcement today, the first season will be based on Walsh’s first two books, ‘Binding 13’ and ‘Keeping 13’. The story follows Johnny Kavanagh, a talented rugby player on the verge of a professional career, and Shannon Lynch, a new student at Tommen College in Ireland.
Johnny is dealing with a potentially career-ending injury, while Shannon is dealing with a troubled home life. As they get to know each other, the two develop a close relationship while facing their personal struggles.
Nancy Surridge will play Shannon Lynch, while Conor Sanchez will play Johnny Kavanagh. James O’Donoghue will portray Joey Lynch and Sophie McGibbon will play Aoife Molloy. The series also features several other actors in supporting roles.
Poppy Cogan, known for ‘A Good Girl’s Guide to Murder’, is adapting the books for television and will serve as lead writer and executive producer alongside Chloe Walsh. Brendan Canty is directing the series, while Ingrid Goodwin is the series producer.
