The Central Bureau of Communication (CBC) has empanelled four OTT platforms under Category A to carry Government of India communication campaigns.
The platforms, according to an advisory from CBC late last week, include JioHotstar, ZEE5, Amazon MX Player and FanCode. The CBC issued the advisory on August 27 after the platforms accepted the L-1 rate matrix approved by the government.
The empanelment will remain valid for three years from the date of the advisory or until the Digital Advertisement Policy, 2023, is valid, whichever is earlier. The period can be extended by one year with the approval of the Director General or Principal Director General of CBC.
According to a CBC advisory, video advertisements will be charged under the applicable L-1 rate matrix on a CPTI/CPM basis for every 10 seconds of creative duration. The rates are in Indian rupees, exclude GST and include service costs.
The CBC has also stated that all video campaigns released on these OTT platforms will be non-skippable. Other terms and conditions mentioned in the original RFP will continue to apply to the empanelled platforms.
