NDTV World is launching a new global initiative, ‘NDTV Anviksha: Ideas Across Borders’, to create conversations between countries and understand their views, ambitions and challenges in a changing world.

According to a NDTV World press release, the first edition, ‘The India-Nepal Dialogue’, will be held in Kathmandu on August 27, 2026.

It will bring together political leaders, policymakers, diplomats, business leaders, strategic experts and cultural personalities from India and Nepal.

The initiative aims to look beyond common perceptions about countries and understand them through their own voices and perspectives. Each edition of ‘Anviksha’ will focus on a different country, exploring its history, identity, ambitions and role in the wider global landscape. The name ‘Anviksha’ comes from the ancient Indian tradition of ‘anvīkṣikī’, which refers to understanding through reason, reflection and examination. The initiative is designed to encourage deeper conversations and look beyond familiar narratives.

The India Nepal Dialogue will focus on Nepal’s economic ambitions, entrepreneurship, democratic development and the aspirations of its young population. Discussions will also cover technology, tourism, infrastructure, sustainability, trade, regional cooperation and developments across South Asia.

The event will feature Nepal’s Foreign Affairs Minister Shisir Khanal, Finance Minister Dr. Swarnim Wagle, Nepali Congress President Gagan Thapa, Sumnima Udas, Chair of the International Relations & Tourism Parliamentary Committee, and India’s Ambassador to Nepal Naveen Srivastava.

Indian participants will include MPs Ravi Shankar Prasad and Dr. Shashi Tharoor, BJP leaders Ram Madhav, Dr. Vinay Sahasrabuddhe and Dr. Vijai Chauthaiwale. Rastriya Swatantra Party leaders Rabi Lamichhane and Manish Jha, along with former Nepal Foreign Minister Pradeep Gyawali, will also participate.Business, entertainment and sports personalities will also join the dialogue. These include Nepal Chamber of Commerce President Kamlesh Agrawal, actor Manisha Koirala, actor and television host Rajesh Hamal, former cricketer Paras Khadka, supermodel Aastha Pokharel and Indian mountaineer Anurag Maloo.

Rahul Kanwal, CEO and Editor-in-Chief, NDTV, said ‘Anviksha’ aims to create a platform where countries can share how they see themselves and engage in meaningful conversations beyond familiar assumptions.

Naveen Kapoor, Editor, NDTV World, said the initiative will help audiences understand countries through their own perspectives, priorities and aspirations. He added that the India-Nepal Dialogue marks the beginning of NDTV World’s larger effort to build conversations across borders.

Kantipur Media Group will be the Nepal Media Partner for ‘NDTV Anviksha’. The partnership will help take the discussions and ideas from the initiative to audiences across Nepal. At the centre of the India-Nepal Dialogue will be a key question: How does Nepal see the world.
