Star Plus bags ‘Best GEC Channel for Fiction Entertainment’ at 12th BCS Ratna Award

Star Plus has been honoured with the prestigious ‘Best GEC Channel for Fiction Entertainment’ award at the 12th BCS Ratna Award 2026, recognising its contribution to Hindi television fiction and its ability to connect with audiences through engaging storytelling.

The award was presented at the XIIth BCS Ratna Award ceremony held in New Delhi. The annual awards celebrate excellence across India’s broadcasting, cable TV, digital media, OTT, entertainment and technology sectors.

Star Plus has maintained a strong presence in the Hindi general entertainment space with its wide range of fiction shows. The channel has consistently focused on stories built around family, relationships, emotions and contemporary social themes, helping it build a strong connection with television audiences.

The recognition at the 12th BCS Ratna Award highlights the channel’s contribution to fiction-based entertainment and its position in India’s competitive GEC segment.

The XIIth BCS Ratna Award 2026 brought together leading broadcasters, media organisations, content platforms and industry professionals. The event recognised achievements across news, general entertainment, sports, digital media, OTT, distribution and technology.

The award were organised by Aavishkar Media Group under the leadership of Dr. A.K. Rastogi, with the ceremony bringing together prominent names from India’s media and entertainment industry.

Amazing and grim battle for survival. Guess it will end up in Supreme Court. All that NCLT asked Zee to do was to file a reply to Invesco petition for a EGM. Now this is getting too serious. So far Invesco has been hammered for demanding an EGM. What is Zee upto? Ofcourse my lawyer community knows better!
