TRAI consults broadband quality of service

The Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) has released a consultation paper seeking stakeholder comments on proposed amendments to the ‘Standards of Quality of Service of Access (Wireline and Wireless) and Broadband (Wireline and Wireless) Service Regulations, 2024’.

According to a PIB release, the proposed amendments are based on TRAI’s experience in implementing the existing regulations, feedback received from stakeholders, evolving technologies, and the growing demand for reliable and high-quality digital connectivity.

The current Quality of Service (QoS) regulations, notified in August 2024 and effective from October 1, 2024, introduced technology-neutral performance standards, stronger reporting mechanisms, and measures to improve transparency for telecom and broadband consumers.

TRAI has also placed the draft ‘Standards of Quality of Service of Access (Wireline and Wireless) and Broadband (Wireline and Wireless) Service (First Amendment) Regulations, 2026’ on its website for public consultation.

Stakeholders can submit their comments on the proposed amendments by August 26, 2026, while counter-comments can be submitted by September 7, 2026.

TRAI has invited stakeholder comments and counter-comments before finalising the proposed amendments to the Quality of Service regulations.

Amazing and grim battle for survival. Guess it will end up in Supreme Court. All that NCLT asked Zee to do was to file a reply to Invesco petition for a EGM. Now this is getting too serious. So far Invesco has been hammered for demanding an EGM. What is Zee upto? Ofcourse my lawyer community knows better!
