Four MSOs have had their registrations either cancelled or surrendered in the month of June, according to data put out by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting (MIB).

Surbhi Diginet, with its registered office in Ujjain district of Madhya Pradesh, and Yadav Cable of Gujarat surrendered their licences on June 8 and June 23, respectively, subsequent to which their registrations were cancelled.

Thulasis Technology Private Limited of Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu and Sri Laxmi Local Cable TV of Medak in Telangana had their registrations cancelled due violation of terms and conditions of MSO registration rules.

Out of the total number of 1,753 MSOs registered with the MIB, as on July 4, 2022, another four networks’ registrations had expired, according to MIB data.

West Bengal’s Hooghly district based  Advance Multisystem Broadband Communications Ltd registration, according to the government, had already expired in November 2016.

Ashiana Communication and Asiant Network Pvt. Ltd. registration expired on June 18, 2022, while the registration of Mumbai’s Bhawani Rajesh Cable Digitech Services Pvt. Ltd. and Howrah’s Kailash Cable Network Pvt. Ltd. also expired in June.

As per rules, any registered MSO, unless indicated in registration order specifically, can operate anywhere in India.
