Zee Kannada is set to present the World Television Premiere of the fantasy action drama ‘45’ on February 22 at 4.30pm, bringing together three celebrated stars in a gripping story that blends philosophy, emotion and high-octane drama.
The channel continues to expand its entertainment line-up with engaging fiction and special premieres, and the latest offering aims to deliver a compelling mix of supernatural elements, intense confrontations and meaningful life lessons for family audiences.
Directed by acclaimed music composer Arjun Janya in his directorial debut and produced by M. Ramesh Reddy under the Suraj Productions banner, ‘45’ features a strong ensemble cast led by Shiva Rajkumar, Upendra and Raj B. Shetty. The film promises an engaging narrative driven by powerful performances and an emotionally layered storyline.
The film follows Vinay, played by Raj B. Shetty, a carefree software engineer living a simple life with his mother and girlfriend Meghana. His life takes a dramatic turn when he accidentally runs over a black dog named Rosie, beloved by local don Rayappa, portrayed by Upendra. Instead of immediate punishment, Rayappa gives Vinay 45 days to reflect on his actions, invoking the Garuda Purana’s concept of life after death.
As fear and guilt begin to consume him, Vinay experiences disturbing dreams that seem to predict real events, including his own fate. During this turmoil, he encounters Shivanna, played by Shiva Rajkumar, a compassionate yet strong-willed figure who becomes his guide and protector. As the countdown progresses, Vinay must confront his destiny and grapple with forces beyond his understanding.
Commenting on the premiere, Deepak Sriramulu, Chief Channel Officer – Zee Kannada and Business Head – Kannada Zee5, said the coming together of three iconic performers makes the film a special offering for viewers, describing the collaboration as an electrifying cinematic experience marked by intensity, charisma and emotional depth.
With its blend of fantasy, drama and philosophical undertones, the film raises a central question — whether Vinay can escape his fate or if the 45-day countdown will lead him to an unavoidable destiny — a journey audiences can witness during its television premiere later this week.
