More companies are now using AI to build their own software instead of buying it from other companies, according to an ANI report from New Delhi.

The report found that 32 per cent of organisations decided not to buy at least one software product or feature because they could build it themselves using AI coding tools.

AI coding tools help developers create software and add new features with less manual coding. This is allowing companies to develop some of the tools they need internally.

The technology and healthcare sectors are among those where this trend is most common. Companies in professional services and energy and materials are also increasingly using AI coding tools to build software in-house.

McKinsey also said that growing use of AI is changing how companies make decisions about software. Businesses are now looking at whether it is better to buy software from outside or build it themselves using AI.

The report also found that AI use is growing across businesses, with many organisations now using AI in different areas of their work.

The findings show that AI is not only helping employees with their daily work but is also changing how companies develop and buy software.
