In a strategic expansion of its regional content portfolio, ZEE5 has announced its entry into the Kannada OTT market with ‘Ayyana Mane’, a gripping supernatural mystery drama. The series marks the platform’s maiden Kannada original and is set to bring a compelling blend of eerie suspense and emotional depth to audiences across Karnataka and beyond.
‘Ayyana Mane’ is more than just a horror story—it delves into themes of family, trauma, and the thin line between reality and the supernatural. Set against the haunting backdrop of a seemingly ordinary ancestral home, the story revolves around unexplained occurrences that unravel dark secrets spanning generations.
The series stars some of Kannada cinema’s most talented actors, including a power-packed lead performance that’s expected to raise the bar for regional web content. With a richly layered narrative, atmospheric visuals, and spine-chilling moments, ‘Ayyana Mane’ is positioned as a marquee show that could set new benchmarks for Kannada digital storytelling.
Manish Kalra, Chief Business Officer at ZEE5 India, said, “With Ayyana Mane, we’re entering the Kannada space with a strong intent to cater to the growing demand for premium regional content. The Kannada audience has shown an increasing appetite for bold, original narratives, and this series is our answer to that call.”
Directed by award-winning filmmaker Arvind Kamath and produced under a reputed banner, the show is slated for release in May 2025. It will be available exclusively on ZEE5, with subtitles in multiple languages to reach a broader audience.
With regional content emerging as a key growth driver in the Indian OTT landscape, ZEE5’s entry into the Kannada segment with a high-quality mystery thriller signals a calculated move to tap into one of South India’s most vibrant and loyal viewer bases.
