Dheeraj Jaggi, the Acting Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) of Zee Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL), has resigned from his role, citing personal reasons. This was confirmed by the company in an official exchange filing.
Jaggi, who had been instrumental in driving internal transformation, culture, and capabilities within ZEEL, expressed his deep appreciation for the opportunity he had to contribute to the company’s vision.
In a heartfelt email to Punit Goenka, the Managing Director and CEO of ZEEL, Jaggi reflected on his journey with the company, describing it as one of the best of his career. He acknowledged the chance to lead the HR agenda across ZEEL’s vast and diverse businesses, and thanked the organization for entrusting him with the CHRO role. Jaggi stated, “The opportunity to reimagine and drive your vision forward through strategy and robust execution, has been an honour and a privilege.”
He also expressed his gratitude for the responsibility of the CHRO position, stating that it was a recognition of his commitment to the company. Jaggi noted that his experiences at ZEEL had been transformative both personally and professionally, helping him grow in ways he would always cherish.
Jaggi’s resignation follows a series of changes within ZEEL, including the departure of Animesh Kumar, the former President of HR and Transformation, in June 2024, who Jaggi had replaced as the acting CHRO. Earlier in January, ZEEL also witnessed the resignation of its Chief Technology and Product Officer (CTPO), who had recently assumed additional responsibilities as the Chief Business Officer of ZEE5, the company’s digital streaming platform.
This series of departures has raised questions about ZEEL’s leadership in key areas as the company navigates challenges in a competitive media landscape.
