Bangla ZEE5 has announced the digital premiere of ‘The Academy Of Fine Arts: The Series Raw & Uncensored’, a six-episode adaptation of filmmaker Jayabrata Das’ critically acclaimed movie. The series began streaming on the platform from May 29, offering viewers a darker and more expansive version of the story that had generated significant attention during its film release.

The series presents the raw and uncensored cut of the dark comedy action thriller, featuring performances by Rudranil Ghosh, Payel Sarkar, the late Rahul Arunoday Banerjee, Sourav Das, Rishav Basu, Anuradha Mukherjee, Rishika Nag, Sudip Mukherjee and Rahul Saha in pivotal roles.

The story revolves around Porichoy Gupto, a mysterious mastermind who assembles a team of five criminals to execute a high-risk heist involving a priceless antique wine bottle. Dinabandhu, Rakhal, Bireshwar, Sachin and Jibonto are recruited for what appears to be a carefully planned operation. However, their mission soon spirals out of control as they become entangled in a dangerous web of deception, violence and personal conflicts.

As the narrative unfolds, the characters find themselves confronting betrayal and shifting loyalties while facing the ruthless gang leader Kim Ling. The series combines crime, action and dark humour with elements of romance and suspense, creating an unpredictable storyline that builds toward a dramatic showdown. Payel Sarkar and Anuradha Mukherjee play key roles in driving the emotional and narrative layers of the plot.

Speaking about the launch, Rusa Banerjee, Business Head of Bangla ZEE5, said the platform continues to focus on bringing fresh and engaging content across genres while supporting distinctive storytelling and creative talent. She noted that presenting ‘The Academy Of Fine Arts’ as a six-episode series will allow audiences to experience the story in greater depth, with its blend of action, humour, romance and suspense offering a unique viewing experience.

The series has been jointly produced by Prateek Chakravorty and Saumya Sarkar, with Sanket Mishra and Manab Saha serving as co-producers.
