Zee Kannada is all set to bring the curtain down on the second season of Mahanati, a one-of-its-kind talent show designed to give aspiring actresses a platform to enter the world of cinema. The channel recently hosted a grand premiere event featuring five short films made by leading Sandalwood directors, with performances by the show’s finalists.
According to a PTI report, the event saw an impressive turnout with the presence of judges Ramesh Aravind, Prema, Tarun Sudhir, and Nishvika Naidu, alongside anchor Anushree and all the contestants. The finale of Mahanati Season 2 is scheduled to air on November 8 and 9 exclusively on Zee Kannada.
Mahanati has been a pioneering format in Kannada television, serving as a bridge between the small screen and the silver screen for aspiring female artists. This season marks a major milestone in the channel’s journey of identifying and nurturing regional talent, reinforcing Zee Kannada’s commitment to empowering newcomers in the entertainment industry.
To commemorate this achievement, finalists Manya Ramesh, Varsha Digraje, Vamshi Rathna Kumar, Shreeya Agamya, and Bhoomika Thammegowda starred in five short films directed by noted filmmakers Pannaga Bharana, Shrinidhi Bengaluru, Kaviraj, Hari Santhosh, and Umesh K Krupa. These films were screened on November 3 and received an enthusiastic response from the audience for their creativity, storytelling, and performances.
The event brought together media professionals, fans, and members of the Kannada film fraternity, celebrating the spirit of emerging talent. Each short film reflected the unique vision of its director while highlighting the versatility of the contestants, many of whom are taking their first steps toward a film career.
Since its inception, Mahanati has introduced several fresh and innovative concepts to television, including on-camera performances, action sequences, and song shoots designed to simulate real cinematic experiences. This training-ground approach has helped contestants understand the demands of acting for the big screen while gaining invaluable exposure.
As the second season nears its conclusion, Zee Kannada promises a grand finale that celebrates the grit, growth, and glamour of these talented young women. Viewers can tune in to the two-part finale on November 8 and 9 at 7 pm to witness who among the finalists will emerge as the next ‘Mahanati’.
