Zee Entertainment UK has expanded its international portfolio with the launch of ‘Jodha Akbar’, a dedicated single-IP channel now streaming on Samsung TV Plus in France.
The channel brings the iconic historical drama to French viewers, marking a significant step forward in Zee’s strategy to deepen its presence across global entertainment markets.
The new channel is an extension of the already successful Zee One offering in France. After witnessing strong traction and positive audience response for Zee One, the network is broadening its footprint with a focused content experience built around Jodha Akbar, a series that has consistently performed well on international platforms. According to the company, this launch reinforces its commitment to delivering culturally rich Indian storytelling to wider audiences in Europe.
The announcement comes through a formal communication from Zee Entertainment, highlighting how this content-led expansion aligns with the company’s ongoing global strategy.
Samsung TV Plus, Samsung’s free ad-supported streaming TV (FAST) platform, will host the new channel. The service offers users access to hundreds of live channels and on-demand programming without subscription fees. Available on Samsung Smart TVs, Galaxy devices, and Samsung Smart Monitors, the platform continues to attract global content partners looking to tap into an expanding connected-TV audience.
Amit Goenka, President of International and Digital Businesses at Zee Entertainment, noted the timeless appeal of the show across borders. “Jodha Akbar is one of the most acclaimed and watched shows on Zee internationally. It has been dubbed and subtitled in multiple languages and has been watched for millions of hours by viewers across the world,” he said. “To continue our legacy of building bridges between languages, cultures, and communities, we are bringing another partnership with Samsung TV Plus to experience the magic of Jodha Akbar as an exclusive single IP channel.”
Adding to this, Antoine Chotard, Country Lead France & MENA, Samsung TV Plus, expressed enthusiasm about the collaboration. “Teaming up with Zee allows us to bring Jodha Akbar, a truly iconic and culturally rich series, to Samsung TV Plus in France. We’re excited to launch this remarkable IP on the service and look forward to the channel’s success in the French market.”
The launch marks Zee’s eighth channel rollout in Europe, strengthening its position as one of the most active Indian broadcasters in the region. With each new channel, Zee continues to establish a benchmark for curated South Asian entertainment tailored for international viewership.
‘Jodha Akbar’ is now available to viewers in France on Samsung TV Plus, on channel number 4277.
