ZEE Entertainment Enterprises Ltd. (ZEEL) has announced a leadership transition in its senior management, elevating industry veteran Laxmi Shetty as Head – Advertisement Revenue, Broadcast & Digital.
The move comes as Ashish Sehgal, Chief Growth Officer – Ad Sales, Broadcast & Digital, steps down after nearly two decades with the organisation, citing personal reasons.
In a press release, the company said Shetty will spearhead ZEE’s monetisation strategy across television and digital platforms, reporting directly to MD & CEO Punit Goenka. A seasoned professional with over 20 years at ZEE, Shetty has been instrumental in building the broadcaster’s revenue ecosystem, nurturing client partnerships, and designing integrated ad solutions that have consistently delivered growth. She began her career with Bennett, Coleman & Co. Ltd., where she spent 15 years before moving to ZEE.
Sehgal, in an email to Goenka, described his tenure as an “incredible journey” that allowed him to contribute to the company’s vision while evolving as a professional. Widely regarded for his market acumen and strong advertiser connect, Sehgal played a central role in strengthening ZEE’s leadership in ad sales during a period of rapid transformation in the Indian broadcast and digital landscape.
“With an aim to further nurture an entrepreneurial spirit, the company is empowering the management team to build leaders of tomorrow,” ZEE said, adding that Shetty’s elevation aligns with its broader goal of accelerating financial growth and unlocking new opportunities for advertisers.
The company confirmed that Sehgal and ZEE have “mutually agreed to part ways” as he prepares to explore fresh avenues. His exit marks the end of an era at the broadcaster, even as Shetty’s appointment signals continuity and renewed focus on driving revenue in a highly competitive media environment.
