Zee Anmol Cinema is set to captivate audiences with the World Television Premiere of ‘Swajan’ on Friday at 7 PM, delivering a beautiful narrative of culture, family, and redemption.
‘Swajan’ is a gripping drama that delves into the complexities of a family entangled in subtle egos, leading to anger and rivalry. It portrays how close relationships can be marred by bitterness and ignorance, only to be suddenly confronted with the demise of their patriarch.
The film explores the importance of ancestral respect, not just in words but in deeds, coinciding with the observance of Pitru Paksha, a time when homage is paid to ancestors and their blessings are sought, UNI reported from New Delhi.
Directed by actor Velu Yeldandi in his directorial debut, the film features Priyadarshi Pulikonda and Kavya Kalyanram in the lead roles. ‘Swajan’ is produced by the veteran Dil Raju, known for his track record of producing hit films.
Director Venu Yeldandi shared his thoughts on the film, saying, “Swajan holds a deep connection for me because it marks the beginning of my directorial journey. It’s a story that resonates with the heart and soul of every family, capturing the bonds that tie families together and the enduring relevance of culture. Swajan pays tribute to the unspoken emotions that often reside within families, inspiring viewers to cherish their loved ones.”
Priyadarshi Pulikonda, who plays the character Saayilu, expressed, “Swajan was a remarkable journey of self-discovery for me as an actor. His struggles, ambitions, and the complex dynamics within his family made this role challenging but eye-opening. The film’s message about the importance of family and tradition will resonate with audiences across generations.”
Kavya Kalyanram, portraying the character Sandhya, highlighted the film’s transformative message, saying, “Swajan beautifully portrays the transformative nature of forgiveness. For me, family is the most important, and this film has only strengthened that belief.”
Producer Dil Raju emphasized the film’s impact, stating, “Swajan is more than just a film; it’s a heartfelt journey that mirrors the complexities of human relationships. We embarked on this journey to touch hearts and souls. We hope Swajan will leave a lasting impact, reminding us to cherish our families.”
Set in a Telangana village, ‘Swajan’ revolves around the aftermath of a family’s patriarch’s sudden passing, exploring the effects on the family’s relations with both the village community and each other.
The family’s pinda ritual, attended by the entire village, reveals that the old man’s soul is unsatisfied when crows refuse to consume the offerings.
