In a bid to further elevate its platform’s functionality and user engagement, WhatsApp, the popular messaging app owned by Meta, has introduced a series of innovative features.
The most notable addition is the introduction of ‘events’, a feature aimed at simplifying event organization within the app.
Users can now seamlessly plan gatherings directly on WhatsApp, with any member of a group able to initiate an event. This allows for easy RSVPs and provides full visibility of attendees within the group, The Times of India reported.
Events will be prominently displayed on the group’s information page, ensuring everyone stays updated, with attendees receiving timely notifications as the event approaches. Initially, this feature will be rolled out exclusively to Community-affiliated groups, with plans for wider availability shortly.
