Meta-owned WhatsApp is currently in the testing phase of a new feature that will provide users with a convenient “filter” to swiftly access a list of their favorite chats from the chats tab on Android.
Reported by IANS, this feature is anticipated to be included in a forthcoming update of the application.
With the introduction of this chat filter, users will have the ability to efficiently locate and prioritize specific conversations with their favorite contacts and groups.
According to the report, this forthcoming tool will enable users to designate particular contacts and groups as favorites, facilitating easier access to important chats and those they frequently engage with.
Although still in development, this feature is expected to be incorporated into a future update of the application, as stated in the report.
In parallel, WhatsApp is also said to be developing a new feature allowing users to react quickly to status updates on Android.
The ‘quick reaction feature for status updates’ will enable users to promptly add a reaction to status updates, providing a seamless way to express appreciation for the content posted.
These reactions will be displayed on the status screen, diverging from the traditional conversation thread format.
