Actor Vicky Kaushal is set to take on the role of Chiranjeevi Parashurama, the “eternal warrior of dharma,” in Maddock Films’ newly announced mythological epic, ‘Mahavatar’. Directed by Amar Kaushik, known for the hit ‘Stree 2’, the film promises a fresh cinematic exploration of Indian mythology. Maddock Films unveiled this much-anticipated project on Wednesday, revealing a first-look poster featuring Kaushal as Parashurama, PTI reported.
The announcement, made via Maddock‘s social media channels, read, “Dinesh Vijan brings to life the story of the eternal warrior of dharma! Vicky Kaushal stars as Chiranjeevi Parashurama in #Mahavatar, directed by Amar Kaushik. Coming to cinemas – Christmas 2026!”
Scheduled for a Christmas 2026 release, ‘Mahavatar’ is expected to showcase Kaushal in a powerful avatar, embodying the legendary warrior known for his unyielding commitment to dharma.
Kaushal is also starring in Maddock’s historical drama Chhaava, where he portrays Maratha emperor Chhatrapati Sambhaji Maharaj. Directed by Laxman Utekar and set for release on December 6, 2024, Chhaava stars Rashmika Mandanna and Akshaye Khanna alongside Kaushal, further highlighting his range in historical and mythological roles.
