Indian Journalist and TV Anchor Vinod Dua has passed away on Saturday evening at Delhi’s Appollo Hospital. He was 67. He has been survived by his two daughters, Bakul Dua, who is a clinical psychologist, and Mallika Dua, a comedian
The news of his demise has been confirmed by his daughter/comedian Mallika Dua.
“Our irreverent, fearless and extraordinary father, Vinod Dua has passed away. He lived an inimitable life, rising from the refugee colonies of Delhi to the peak of journalistic excellence for over 42 years, always, always speaking truth to power. He is now with our mom, his beloved wife Chinna in heaven where they continue to sing, cook, travel and drive each other up the wall.”
She also informed that cremation will take place on December 5 at Lodi crematorium at noon.
Last month, Vinod is in the ICU of a Delhi hospital and his condition was ‘beyond critical’.
Vinod was a pioneer in broadcast Hindi journalism with stints in Doordarshan and NDTV.
For the unversed, Vinod and his wife Padmavati ‘Chinna’ Dua had contracted covid during the second phase of the pandemic. Both had been hospitalized. Chinna Dua succumbed to covid-19 in June after a prolonged battle with the disease.
Where Vinod had not been keeping well after he recovered from covid-19.
Vinod is an alumnus of Delhi University in literature.
