Tinder, in collaboration with Viacom18, is back with the fourth season of ‘Swipe Ride’, a show celebrating open and meaningful conversations about what Indian women want from their dating lives. Premiering on Wednesday, on Tinder’s YouTube channel and exclusively on JioCinema, the new season kicks off with Bollywood actress Vaani Kapoor as the featured guest.
Hosted by popular content creator and actor Kusha Kapila, Swipe Ride takes viewers on an entertaining journey as Kapila drives with a celebrity guest in the backseat—this time, Vaani Kapoor—alongside a Tinder user.
In this episode, 23-year-old Panthi Shah, a marketing manager and aspiring model, joins them on her quest to find love. Panthi, whose Tinder bio reads “Pasta, puppies, and looking for a potential partner in crime,” is set for a pottery date with Yash, a graphic designer who shares her adventurous spirit.
During the episode, the trio dives deep into topics such as the magic of spontaneous first dates, the importance of setting healthy boundaries, and self-expression in relationships. They also reflect on the timeless charm of Shahrukh Khan, whom they see as bridging the gap between Gen Z, millennials, and boomers in the dating world.
Vaani Kapoor opened up about the challenges of dating in the public eye, noting how her fame sometimes makes it difficult to identify genuine intentions. “I’m an idealist in love but a realist in life. Finding true chemistry is rare, and when you do, it’s important to seize it with both hands,” Vaani shared.
Panthi also revealed her own dating journey, which included going on 50 first dates this year—a process she described as one of self-discovery.
Tinder’s Year in Swipe report highlights a shift in dating trends, with many singles embracing N.A.T.O. (Not Attached To Outcomes) Dating. This approach encourages people to break free from societal expectations and enjoy making connections without worrying about where the relationship is headed.
Kusha Kapila emphasized the importance of this season, saying, “This season of Swipe Ride is all about celebrating the empowered and authentic voices of today’s young women. These women are breaking the mold and embracing what they truly want in their dating journey.”
Vivek Mohan Sharma, Head of Branded Content & MTV Properties Revenue at Viacom18, noted that this season highlights the self-assurance and clarity with which young Indian women navigate their relationships. Tinder India’s Marketing Director, Anukool Kumar, echoed these sentiments, calling the show a reflection of how young women are embracing transparency and new possibilities in their dating lives.
Co-created by film director Debbie Rao and writer Supriya Joshi, Swipe Ride is a celebration of women who call their own shots in both their personal and professional lives.
