Twitter CEO Elon Musk announced yesterday that verified accounts will now be prioritized on the microblogging site.
“Verified accounts are now prioritized,” he tweeted. This development may give people who have had their accounts verified special consideration, an IANS report said.
For example, if your account is verified, Twitter users are more likely to see your posts. Musk removed all legacy verified accounts with Blue check marks last week. Charlie Sheen, an American actor, publicly begged Musk to return his blue Twitter check mark.
After a site-wide purge of legacy verified accounts, Sheen, like thousands of others, lost his official verification badge. He was one of those who refused to pay for Twitter Blue, Musk’s $8-per-month subscription service. Sheen’s blue check, on the other hand, was quickly restored, the IANS report from New Delhi said..
On Twitter, Amitabh Kant, the former CEO of NITI Aayog, also lost the Blue Tick. It was previously stated that Twitter will not remove verified status from government accounts or accounts run by government officials.
The Blue Tick of Kant has yet to be restored.
Furthermore, the ongoing Blue Tick saga on Twitter took a new turn later, as many influential and famous users had their blue checks restored by Musk despite not subscribing to the service.
Many influential and well-known Twitter users have had their Blue verification badges reinstated next to their usernames around the world.
