The microblogging site, Twitter has removed the ability to send a direct message to another account directly from the profile page on Android and iOS.
The direct message (DM) button appears next, and the notifications icon has vanished without a trace. The situation appears to be the same for all Twitter users, and it is thought to be a minor bug.
According to ANI, Google also stated that the microblogging site on the web app continues to display the button as usual. It’s unclear whether Twitter made the change on purpose.
Nonetheless, Twitter users can still send a direct message to the desired account by searching for it in the messages tab.
The change comes just days after Elon Musk announced the launch of a high-priced subscription plan with no ads in the coming weeks.
He also stated that the upcoming update will not compel users to use the ‘For You’ algorithmic timeline.
