This weekend TV9 Bangla will present a news series with a difference. The show on Bengal’s bohemian writer-poet Shakti Chattopadhyay will put the limelight on this maverick with inputs from his daughter Titir Roy.
Roy, along with her mother Minakshi, will be seen sharing thoughts and anecdotes about the poet-writer, including updates on few unpublished works.
The show, ‘Shakti-Amar Baba’, meaning Shakti Chattopadhyay-My Dad, will air November 27 from 10 pm onwards on his 87th birth anniversary.
Amidst the wilderness of poetry, the poet stands as a postman, whose work has embarked to arouse a variety of emotions from affection to enterprise to calmness to anger. This is quite evident through the verses that has made him versatile. Unearthing different storylines, gathering views from different people on him, TV9 Bangla casts his family to strike a chord with the audience about Chattopadhyay’s unconventional lifestyle and his style of narrations.
