Iceland-based Tulipop Studios has partnered with Toonz Media Group for the international rollout of its new feature film ‘Tulipop: Magical Seasons’, with the project making its debut at the Cannes Film Market this week.
According to a press release, Toonz Media Group has been appointed as the international sales agent for the 70-minute feature film, which is being showcased to global buyers and distributors during a special screening at the Lerins Club in Cannes on May 13.
Designed as a festive family entertainer, ‘Tulipop: Magical Seasons’ combines two adventures — ‘Pumpkin Pip’ and ‘A Midwinter Tale’ — into a single cinematic experience aimed at young audiences. The film follows popular Tulipop characters Fred, Gloomy, Bubble, and Maddy as they journey through magical fall and winter adventures on the island of Tulipop.
The story introduces a young pumpkin named Pip and takes viewers through themes of friendship, kindness, imagination, and bravery while blending Halloween-inspired fun with the warmth of midwinter celebrations. The feature also includes an original song titled ‘Share or Scare’, composed by Icelandic singer-songwriter Daði Freyr, known globally for his hit track ‘Think About Things’.
The film is backed by commissions from Nordic public broadcasters and Iceland’s leading cinema chain Sambíó. Through the Cannes launch, Toonz Media Group is now seeking international presale deals across theatrical, broadcast, and distribution platforms.
Speaking about the collaboration, Helga Árnadóttir said the studio was excited to work with Toonz Media Group as it entered the feature film space. She added that the magical and festive nature of the story makes it ideal for a theatrical family viewing experience.
