Truecaller has announced the appointment of Vikas Khanna as Senior Director, Ad Sales for Truecaller India, marking a key step in strengthening its advertising leadership as the company accelerates the next phase of growth for its ads business.
In his new role, Khanna will lead Truecaller’s direct sales operations in India, with a focus on scaling direct brand partnerships, driving adoption of premium inventory and building industry-vertical-led advertising solutions.
The appointment comes at a time when Truecaller has been actively reshaping its advertising organisation. Over the past year, the platform has moved towards industry-led, data-driven sales models designed to help advertisers gain deeper insights, move faster on learnings and create more customised, results-oriented partnerships.
This strategic shift has enabled Truecaller to introduce premium, direct-only ad inventory, custom innovation packages and solutions that go beyond standard third-party inventory access. The company has also strengthened its measurement and analytics capabilities through AI-powered insights, including the launch of its proprietary ‘ROI of Trust’ framework, which aims to demonstrate the tangible business impact of trust-based advertising through real advertiser outcomes and case studies.
Vikas Khanna brings with him over 25 years of leadership experience across print, television and digital media. He has a strong track record of building and scaling advertising businesses and joins Truecaller after holding senior roles at several leading media and technology organisations, including Jio Hotstar, Star Sports, ITV Network, TikTok, NewsX, TV18, NDTV Network, Times of India and the India Today Group.
Commenting on the appointment, Hemant Arora, Vice President – Global Ads Business at Truecaller, said that direct brand relationships are central to the company’s vision for the future of advertising. He noted that as a platform deeply embedded in consumers’ daily lives, Truecaller believes advertising must be data-first, powered by AI and measured beyond surface-level metrics.
“With strong foundations now in place across industry expertise, premium inventory and advanced measurement, this is the right moment to scale. India is a strategic market for us, and Vikas’s entrepreneurial mindset and deep market understanding make him the ideal person to take this forward,” Arora said.
Khanna’s appointment is expected to play a critical role in driving Truecaller’s ambition to build deeper, more meaningful advertising partnerships in the Indian market while delivering measurable value to brands.
