Global kids and family entertainment powerhouse Toonz Media Group has teamed up with Angel Studios to distribute a brand-new anime-style fantasy adventure series titled ‘Gabriel and the Guardians.’ The 13-episode, 22-minute each series draws inspiration from the ancient Hebrew text, the Dead Sea Scrolls.
‘Gabriel and the Guardians’ follows Gabriel, a Celestial Guardian committed to protecting the Tree Eternal, even as his closest allies waver. The series highlights themes of hope and the belief in untapped potential.
The show is developed by Colossal Studios, with animation by Tiger Animation and pre-production by Robot Playground. It features renowned voice actors including Johnny Yong Bosch (Gabriel), Cristina Vee (Namay’ah), James Arnold Taylor (Malachros), and Matt Lanter (Nok).
Created by Jason Andrew Moody, with David Evan Cunningham as showrunner and Albert Francis Moore as head of production, the series targets viewers aged 13 and up but aims to appeal to a broad audience through its character-driven storytelling and action.
Bruno Zarka, President of the TV Co-production, Distribution & Syndication Division at Toonz Media Group, expressed excitement about the partnership, “We are thrilled to join hands with Angel Studios to distribute this promising animated series. ‘Gabriel and the Guardians’ has all the elements to become a globally popular show.”
Thomas Hughes, EVP of Distribution Strategy and Global Partnerships at Angel Studios, added, “Having the expertise of Bruno and the entire Toonz team to help with the Gabriel project is a blessing. Their reputation and relationships in the anime genre are legendary, and we look forward to a thriving distribution partnership.”
‘Gabriel and the Guardians’ promises to deliver high-quality animation, compelling characters, and engaging storytelling, making it a highly anticipated series for audiences worldwide.
