Times Internet has elevated Nikhil Sharma as the Business Head of its content discovery platform, NewsPoint, effective November 2025. Sharma, who has been associated with the company for over eight years, announced his new role through a LinkedIn post, expressing gratitude and enthusiasm for the journey ahead.
In his post, Sharma wrote, “Growth is never just about numbers, it’s about building ecosystems that move people, and people who move ecosystems. I’m excited to share that I’ve taken on a new role as Business Head, NewsPoint App at Times Internet. Over the years, the journey from leading Growth to now steering one of India’s largest content discovery platforms has been incredibly rewarding — shaped by collaboration, experimentation, and the belief that scale and purpose can go hand in hand. Grateful to everyone who’s been part of this journey — colleagues, partners, and teams who’ve helped transform bold ideas into lasting impact. The mission ahead is clear: to continually evolve how India discovers, engages with, and experiences news. The journey continues.”
Before this elevation, Sharma served as the Head of Business Development at Times Internet, where he played a key role in driving growth across multiple flagship products, including The Times of India (TOI), NewsPoint, Gaana, ETMoney, and Haptik. He also led strategic partnerships with major brands and telecom operators such as Xiaomi, Oppo, Vivo, Samsung, Airtel, and Dish TV, strengthening Times Internet’s position in India’s digital ecosystem.
Prior to joining Times Internet, Sharma worked at Hungama Digital, where he managed the business and product expansion of Hungama Music and Movies mobile applications. He also gained experience at Paytm, focusing on product management and business acquisitions, and at Cyber Futuristics, where he contributed to process optimization and consumer behavior analytics.
Apart from his corporate journey, Sharma also ventured into entrepreneurship with the launch of WEstaple.com, an online grocery delivery platform designed to simplify everyday shopping for Indian consumers.
With over a decade of experience spanning digital media, product strategy, and business growth, Nikhil Sharma brings deep industry insight and leadership to his new role at Times Internet, as he continues to guide NewsPoint’s evolution in India’s dynamic content discovery landscape.
