Threads, Meta’s new Twitter rival, is on track to surpass 100 million user sign-ups as Twitter’s traffic declines.
The app, available for iOS and Android users in 100 countries, has already become the top free app on the App Store since its launch last week. Currently, there are over 97 million accounts on Threads, with the user base growing rapidly, Economic Times reported.
In just two hours after its release, the app gained 2 million sign-ups, reaching 10 million users in seven hours and 30 million in only 12 hours. Despite missing some features like direct messages and a full web version, Threads aims to create a public square for communities on Instagram and other platforms seeking a more positive conversation space.
