Sony Pictures Networks India (SPNI) has announced a series of key leadership changes to drive its strategic growth and operational excellence. The newly appointed leaders, each bringing a wealth of experience and expertise, are set to play critical roles in SPNI’s future success, the company said in a press release.
Nachiket Pantvaidya has been appointed as the Business Head of Sony Entertainment Television (SET), marking his third stint with SPNI. A seasoned media professional, Nachiket will also retain his position as General Manager at Sony Pictures International Productions (SPIP).
His career, characterized by leadership roles at various top media companies, has seen him successfully manage P&L for SET, develop iconic franchises, and significantly boost advertising and distribution revenues. In his expanded role, Nachiket will leverage his strategic vision and industry insights to enhance entertainment experiences across both SET and SPIP.
Ajay Bhalwankar, a veteran of SPNI since 2014, has been entrusted with the additional responsibility of leading Sony SAB as its Business Head. Ajay, who has already made a significant impact as the head of Sony Marathi, has a proven track record of delivering high-quality, engaging content that resonates with audiences.
Under his guidance, Sony Marathi has captured a 9 percent market share in the competitive Marathi General Entertainment Channel (GEC) market. Ajay’s creative insight and strategic foresight are expected to bring fresh, engaging content to Sony SAB, further solidifying the channel’s position in the market.
Tushar Shah has been appointed to oversee Sony MAX, Sony MAX HD, Sony MAX 2, Sony WAH, and Sony PAL in addition to his current responsibilities as the Business Head of English, Bengali, and Infotainment Channels, and Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) at SPNI.
Tushar’s leadership has been instrumental in the growth and profitability of channels such as Sony PIX, Sony AATH, and Sony BBC Earth. His successful expansion of Sony AATH in West Bengal is a testament to his strategic capabilities. In his expanded role, Tushar is expected to drive further innovation and market presence across the channels under his purview.
These leadership changes at SPNI reflect the company’s commitment to adapting to the evolving media landscape and ensuring its continued growth. With Nachiket, Ajay, and Tushar taking on these pivotal roles, SPNI is well-positioned to deliver innovative and engaging content to its diverse audience across India.
