Sony YAY! is expanding its anime slate with one of the world’s most celebrated titles — ‘One-Punch Man’. The channel has announced that the action-comedy phenomenon will premiere on Saturday, November 22, airing every night at 10 pm during the CR block, in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
According to a Sony YAY! press release, the series marks a major addition to the network’s growing anime universe, bringing one of the most influential modern anime titles to Indian screens. Viewers will be introduced to Season 1, where Saitama, an unassuming hero with unmatched strength, begins his chaotic and comedic journey.
‘One-Punch Man’ follows Saitama, a man who can defeat any opponent with a single punch — a power that leaves him bored and searching for a real challenge. The show blends humour, sharp satire, and visually striking action sequences, earning it cult status across global anime fandoms. Its arrival on Indian television reflects the rising popularity of anime among young audiences and long-time fans alike.
Ambesh Tiwari, Business Head at Sony YAY!, said the growing appetite for anime in India has encouraged the channel to strengthen its offerings. “The growing appetite for anime in India is unprecedented, and we’re committed to cater to this cultural shift. Adding a title as iconic as One-Punch Man to Sony YAY!’s strong anime lineup reflects our sustained efforts in bringing more globally loved stories to Indian audiences,” he said.
With the addition of ‘One-Punch Man’, Sony YAY! continues to broaden its anime footprint, offering viewers high-quality international content in the languages they prefer. The series is expected to appeal both to dedicated anime fans and newcomers discovering the genre for the first time.
Viewers can catch Saitama’s hilarious, action-packed adventures every night at 10 pm from November 22, available in Hindi, Tamil, and Telugu.
