Sony Sports Network and Sony LIV will broadcast the Indian men’s football team’s international friendly against two-time FIFA World Cup champions Uruguay on Tuesday.
The match will be played at the Vivekananda Yuba Bharati Krirangan, popularly known as Salt Lake Stadium, in Kolkata, with kick-off scheduled for 7.30 pm. The fixture will conclude India’s FIFA international window.
According to a press release, India enters the match after a 1-1 draw against Panama and a 0-4 defeat to five-time FIFA World Cup champions Brazil. The Uruguay fixture will provide another opportunity for the Indian side to test itself against one of the world’s established footballing nations.
Ryan Williams will be one of India’s key attacking players after scoring in the draw against Panama. His pace, movement and ability to create opportunities on the counter could be important against Uruguay’s defence.
Anirudh Thapa, who returned to the national team during the current FIFA window, will add experience to India’s midfield. His ability to retain possession and help the team transition from defence to attack will be crucial against Uruguay.
For Uruguay, defender Ronald Araujo will be one of the players to watch. His strength, speed and composure at the back could pose a challenge to India’s attacking players. Forward Darwin Nunez will also be a major threat, with his pace, physicality and movement in the final third expected to test the Indian defence.
The India-Uruguay friendly will be broadcast live on Sony Sports Ten 2 SD and HD, Sony Aath SD and HD in Bengali, Sony Sports Ten 3 Hindi SD and HD, and Sony Sports Ten 4 in Tamil, Telugu and Kannada.
The match will also be available for live streaming on the Sony LIV website.
