Punjabi actress Sonam Bajwa has been roped in to star opposite Diljit Dosanjh in the highly anticipated Bollywood action drama ‘Border 2’, slated to hit theatres on January 22, 2026.
According to ANI, the film marks a continuation of the iconic ‘Border’ legacy, blending patriotism with high-octane storytelling. The announcement was also made on T-Series Films’ official Instagram handle, stating: “Welcoming @sonambajwa to the #Border2 family, opposite @diljitdosanjh. A tale where grace and glory unite – releasing in cinemas on January 22, 2026.”
Directed by Anurag Singh, the sequel also features Sunny Deol and Varun Dhawan in pivotal roles, promising a star-studded ensemble. Producer Bhushan Kumar highlighted the emotional connection of the original film, saying, “Border is more than a film, it’s an emotion for every Indian. With Border 2, we aim to carry forward that legacy and bring it to a new generation. The new release date gives audiences more time to come together and experience the film in theatres during an extended Republic Day weekend.”
Director Anurag Singh added that it was an “honour” to pay tribute to the undying spirit of Indian soldiers through the film. With a mix of action, emotion, and patriotism, ‘Border 2’ is shaping up to be one of the most awaited releases of early 2026.
