WPP Media has announced the appointment of Sindhuja Rai as its Chief Client Officer for the Asia Pacific, Middle East and Africa (APMEA) region. The announcement was made through a LinkedIn update, underscoring the company’s continued focus on strengthening its leadership bench and client-centric strategy across key global markets.
Rai, who most recently served as CEO for Wavemaker APAC, now steps into a larger, regional role within the WPP ecosystem. During her tenure at Wavemaker, she led strategic growth initiatives and drove operational excellence across the agency’s APAC markets, building strong, future-ready partnerships with clients and teams alike.
Prior to joining Wavemaker in September 2023, Rai was Global Media Investment and AMEA CX Lead at Mondelēz International. There, she played a pivotal role in driving impactful marketing investments across global markets. Under her leadership, the AMEA CX team achieved a consistent 10%+ year-on-year growth in media ROI for six consecutive years—an achievement that significantly contributed to Mondelēz’s growth trajectory.
With over 25 years of experience in marketing and media, Rai’s career has spanned leadership positions across top agencies such as IPG, Publicis, and Havas. Her cross-functional expertise and client-focused approach have made her a trusted name in the industry, known for balancing creativity with commercial effectiveness.
In her new role at WPP Media, Rai is expected to bring that same focus and momentum to clients across APMEA, a region marked by immense diversity, rapid digital evolution, and high-growth potential. Her appointment comes at a time when global media agencies are realigning leadership and strategy to stay ahead in a complex, tech-led marketing landscape.
