In a strategic move to deepen viewer engagement and scale live fan experiences, JioHotstar has appointed Shyam Tallamraju as its new Vice President – Fan Loyalty & Live Experiences. A seasoned media and marketing executive, Tallamraju made the announcement on LinkedIn, sharing his excitement about the role and early wins already under his belt.
“I’m happy to share that I’m starting a new position as Vice President – Fan Loyalty & Live Experiences at JioHotstar!” he wrote. “In less than two months, I led a fantastic team on two large non-sporting live experiences on JioHotstar – Mahashivratri and Ram Navami with Amitabh Bachchan. It’s always Day One at Jiostar and I feel like I am just getting started.”
This appointment comes at a time when JioHotstar is expanding its focus beyond sports into large-format cultural and spiritual live events, aimed at strengthening its connection with India’s diverse viewer base.
As per an internal company note and Tallamraju’s public post, his role is centered around building high-impact, emotionally resonant experiences that drive long-term fan loyalty—an area that JioHotstar sees as critical to its future growth.
With over 20 years of experience across marketing, media, content strategy, and digital platforms, Tallamraju has held leadership positions in several marquee organizations including Gupshup, OZiva, BookMyShow, Star TV, Radio Mirchi, TO THE NEW, and Tangerine Digital. He was also the Co-Founder of Hi Hello, a startup in the fan engagement space.
He began his career in 2001 as Group Manager – Sales & Marketing at Radio Mirchi and has since built a reputation for crafting successful brand and audience strategies at the intersection of media, entertainment, and technology. He holds a PGDM in Marketing from the Indian Institute of Management Bangalore (IIM-B).
