As the winter season fosters togetherness, ShemarooMe, Gujarat’s leading OTT platform, is set to warm hearts with the world digital premiere of Udan Chhoo on December 12, 2024. Directed by Anish Shah, this unconventional Gujarati love story weaves humor, emotion, and familial bonds into an unforgettable cinematic experience.
Udan Chhoo narrates the tale of Hasmukh Mehta, a single father determined to find the perfect match for his daughter, Krina. Fate, however, takes an unexpected turn when Hasmukh reconnects with his college sweetheart, Pankor, who is coincidentally the mother of his daughter’s prospective groom. This serendipitous encounter transforms a conventional matchmaking process into a journey of rediscovery, second chances, and heartfelt humor, the company said in a press release.
The film explores themes of love beyond age and societal norms, creating a narrative that resonates with audiences across generations.
The movie boasts an exceptional cast, with Deven Bhojani as the endearing Hasmukh Mehta and Prachee Shah Paandya portraying the inspiring Pankor. Aarohi Patel and Aarjav Trivedi join as the younger generation, alongside a talented ensemble including Alisha Prajapati, Naman Gor, Pratik Nanda, and Sohni Bhatt.
Deven Bhojani expressed his delight,“Hasmukh is a beautifully nuanced character, blending humor and emotion. Working on Udan Chhoo allowed me to explore a role that’s both challenging and rewarding. I’m thrilled that this story, which bridges nostalgia and modernity, will now reach a wider audience through ShemarooMe.”
Prachee Shah Paandya added,“Pankor’s journey is one of resilience and rediscovery. This film celebrates relationships and second chances with warmth and humor, offering a refreshing take on love and family dynamics.”
With a mix of nostalgia, humor, and heartfelt storytelling, Udan Chhoo promises to be a standout addition to contemporary Gujarati cinema. Mark your calendars for December 12 and join the celebration of love and family on ShemarooMe.
